Self-Latching Narrow Backset Sliding Door Lock
The self-latching narrow backset sliding door lock brings the trusted performance of the 1700 Series to sleek sliding door applications. Designed for narrow stile aluminum storefront and glass partition systems, it maintains clean sightlines while delivering dependable latching action for commercial environments. Ideal for office, healthcare, and storefront openings, the self-latching mechanism allows the latch bolt to engage automatically when the door closes—providing secure, easy operation without compromising aesthetics.
- Stainless steel case.
- Brass, bronze, aluminum or stainless steel armor front, finished as required.
- Brass or stainless steel, solid type 1/2” latch bolt throw.
- 4-7/8” x 1-1/4" standard strike.
- 1-1/8" backset standard, other backsets available as a special order.
- Hubs set up to accept 8mm spindles. Other sizes can be accommodated.
- Brass, stainless steel or oil rubbed bronze dust box.

- Latch bolt by lever either side.
SL1745SDL | Classroom
- Latch bolt by lever either side unless outside lever is locked by key.
- Inside lever always free egress.
SL1750SDL | Entrance
- Latch bolt by lever either side unless outside lever locked by thumb turn inside or key outside.
- When outside lever is locked, operating the inside lever will NOT unlock outside lever.
SL1753SDL | Entrance
- Latch bolt by lever either side unless locked by thumb turn inside or key outside (both levers become rigid).
- No emergency egress.
SL1756SDL | Entrance or Office
- Latch bolt by key outside and lever either side unless outside lever is locked by toggle.
SL1758SDL | Institution or Asylum
- Latch bolt by key either side.
- Dummy handles required to slide door.
SL1759SDL | Storeroom or Closet
- Latch bolt by lever inside and key outside.
- Outside lever always rigid.
